The new year is a time to start fresh, set goals and plan for the year ahead. For you, that could mean target races, epic adventures, getting faster, going longer, or decluttering your garage and selling that old bike… We are not here to tell you what to do, just to support you in those efforts.
The new Annual Goals feature allows Premium athletes to set cycling, running and swimming goals for the current year and track their progress over time. Unlike the weekly goal feature that resets every Monday, this feature lets you view your cumulative efforts over 12 months time.
Don’t hesitate to go big, set an audacious goal and start the year on the right foot.
“If you had asked me at the beginning of 2015 if I could run 900 miles in one year, I would’ve told you that you were crazy,” says Strava Growth Marketer Kate Shaughnessy. “And now I’m kicking myself because I could’ve hit a nice round 1,000 miles if I had known I was so close!
Maybe I’ll do 2,016 miles for 2016!
says Kate, who has also set a goal of completing her first marathon this year.
On iOS and Android, you can find Annual Goals on your profile. Select a sport tab, scroll down to the “This Year” section, and tap the edit icon on the right side to set your goal.
On the web, Premium athletes can easily access Annual Goals on the right side of the dashboard. You will see year-to-date totals for running, cycling and swimming and projected totals for end of year. To set a goal for the current year, click the “Edit” link at the top of the “This Year” module.
You can set a goal by distance or time. Once you’ve set your goal, we’ll tell you whether you are on track, falling short, or blowing your goal out of the water. You can edit your goals anytime if you need to adjust.
No matter what you want to accomplish in 2016, committing to a goal will help you get there. How far will you go this year?
