Every day, millions of athletes tell their stories on Strava.
The feed is filled with activities, including multi-day adventures, races, group runs, solo rides, cross training and commutes. They all have a story – made rich through their training stats, GPS maps, creative titles, kudos, comments and photos. Those images provide an added layer of depth to the narrative. It’s not just the epic views or action shots – the simple rituals, local perspective and sights captured along the route help to bring an activity to life.
Since launching Strava photos less than a year ago, we continue to be inspired by your photos — all 20 million-plus of them. We’re not the only ones, as we’ve found that activities with photos get 2-3 times more kudos and comments than activities without.
So… we love photos on Strava, you love photos on Strava. Let’s make them even better: Our newest photo features bring them front-and-center in your Strava experience on mobile and web.
Photos in the Mobile Feed
If an activity in your feed has a photo, you’ll see a nice, big photo with a smaller map tile. Tap the camera icon to see all photos from that activity in a lightbox. You can still get a close-up of the map by tapping on the feed entry to go to the activity detail page.
It’s a great way to summarize your ride and share with other cyclists the highlights of that day and what you have seen or experienced, while also sharing the rest of your data.

Photo Lightbox with Captions
Upload multiple photos for your activities, add captions, and – voila – you have your very own Strava Stories on your mobile device for you and your friends to scroll through.
Far away or in my backyard, Strava’s photo feature allows me to share stories in ways that words cannot convey.

Photos on Web Profiles
Your latest photos are now featured at the top of your athlete profile on the web. You keep snapping pics, and we’ll take care of keeping your header fresh. You can still access all of your photos further down on your profile.
I love Strava and the photo integration, so thank you!
