This year over 120 riders starting the men’s Tour de France and 85 riders starting La Course – the women’s one day race that will precede the start of this year’s Tour – will be sharing their activities on Strava giving you a unique insight into the biggest race in cycling.
The 108th edition of the men’s Tour features a good balance of challenges including the potential for an unusually exciting opening stage as the peloton rolls out of Brest on June 26th. Fittingly, La Course will kick off this year’s proceedings as it ushers in a new era for women’s cycling – a long overdue Tour de France femmes will replace La Course in 2022. We’re really excited to see women’s cycling get the stage it deserves.
We’ve also got something new for you this year: we’ll be celebrating the exceptional effort of the riders with a special achievement, the Queen/King of the Day. The distinction is designed to celebrate something all cycling fans love to see – gutsy, attacking riding on big climbs. The Queen/King of the Day distinction will be awarded to the fastest athlete on the day’s categorized climbs segments. So, make sure to follow your favorite pros and keep your eyes on the feed to see it on athlete’s activities.
