Strava Expands Community With New Gym & Studio Sync Partners
SAN FRANCISCO – March 28, 2018 – Strava continues to grow beyond outdoor running and cycling as it adds 10 more Gym & Studio integrations. The platform’s newest partners join strength-training apps like Fitbod and studio workouts including Flywheel extending its ability to better serve athletes.
Driven by lack of time and inclement weather, indoor workouts are on the rise. More than 75 percent of Strava athletes do activities other than run or ride outdoors at least once a week. According to Strava, strength training, indoor running and cycling, swimming, and yoga are most popular. Gym & Studio Sync enables athletes to share more of these workouts to Strava with the rest of their fitness experiences. Once connected to Strava via a Gym & Studio Sync partner app, workout data, analysis and photos flow seamlessly to your Strava profile and training log. Online experiences of meditation and yoga with YogaGlo, an at-home workout with barre3 or Sworkit will now appear alongside outdoor rides and runs in your Strava activity feed.
“Our athletes don’t have one single way they workout–they like to mix it up–a trail run, some strength training and a studio class all in the same week,” says James Quarles, Strava CEO. “Today’s athlete expects a level of connectedness and community to stay motivated. There hasn’t been a great way to connect your outdoor activities with your indoor training. Wherever you sweat, we want it to have a home on Strava. The rapidly growing ranks of Strava Gym & Studio Sync partners have developed the best digital experience for their athletes and we’re excited to make those experiences count on Strava.”

Weav Run was born from a simple question: we move to music when we’re exercising, but what if music could respond and adjust to US? So we created a running app that seamlessly syncs music with your tempo. Speed up — so do the songs. Slow down — the music follows, all without sounding like the Chipmunks. Moving in sync with music releases a flood of endorphins that lights your brain up like a Christmas tree, delaying fatigue, helping to fight pain, and maximizing performance. The bottom line? For both new and seasoned runners alike, running with music will never be the same.
