Strava's Tour of California Wrap-up

Posted by Strava on June 3rd, 2010

First of all, thank you all who participated!  We know we made this a challenging event to complete since we had stages covering a wide area in CA.  In all, we had 25 people complete at least one stage and quite a few riders competed multiple stages.  The bulk of the overall top 10 ascents for Tunitas Creek and Sierra Rd were set during this competition, including a very strong KOM set by Oddvar Kaarboe on Tunitas Creek.  Likewise, Laura Schuster set the standard for women on Sierra Rd.

We’ve decided to waive the published requirement that there be at least 10 riders completing a stage in order to qualify for Strava-sponsored prizes.  Full results appear below. We’ll run several more events during the summer months in different areas, and we’ll likely concentrate the stages in a smaller geographic area making the events easier to complete. If you are interested in having Strava sponsor an on-line event in your area, let us know at support@strava.com.

Here are the results of the Strava TOC showing top-3 placings for Men and Women. Winnings will be paid in the form of gift certificates at the bike shop of your choice.  We will be in contact with each of you shortly to get that going.
